A 100% Direct-Pay Practice: Prioritizing Your Privacy And Care

Facing Mountains Therapy is an out-of-pocket, private-pay practice. I am fully independent and do not participate with any health insurance plans, nor do I issue Superbills, diagnoses, or clinical documentation for third-party insurance reimbursement.

Why I Do Not Work With Insurance Companies

Standard insurance models often conflict with deep, ethical psychotherapy. My decision to completely step outside the insurance system is intentional and rooted in protecting your care:

  • 100% Confidentiality & Data Privacy: Insurance companies require diagnostic codes and can demand access to treatment plans and clinical notes. Furthermore, third-party payers increasingly utilize automated claims processing, AI auditing, and digital data-sharing. By operating entirely outside of insurance systems, your therapeutic records remain strictly between you and me.

  • No Bureaucratic Dictation: Managed care companies, who have never met you, often dictate how many sessions you are allowed, what treatment modalities can be used, and whether your distress qualifies as "medically necessary."

  • Care Driven by You, Not a Corporate Board: Your treatment should be determined by your personal goals, values, and pace. Working on chronic disorganization, executive friction, and deep life transitions requires time, depth, and flexibility, not arbitrary insurance limits.

Please Note: Because I do not provide Superbills, diagnostic codes, or insurance-compliant billing documentation, therapy fees cannot be submitted to insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. Clients are provided with standard receipts for their financial records or for reimbursement through tax-advantaged accounts (like Flexible Spending Accounts [FSA] or Health Savings Accounts [HSA]), subject to your specific plan rules.

In accordance with federal law, all private-pay clients receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) detailing anticipated session costs before beginning care.
